Ghabchae is very popular food in Korea. So it is always set on the Korean table. Anyone who ever tastes the Ghabchae is likely to get again. If you want to cook it yourself, you should prepare colorful and various materials as follows. First, get vegetables such as carrot, green pepper, mushroom, onions, and spinach. And then fry carrot, green pepper, onions with oil. after boil slightly mushroom and onions in hot water, press water from them. And fry mushroom and onions with oil.
Next, put the Chinese noodles in boiling water for five minutes. Washing out the Chinese noodles by cold water. Seperate two eggs into the white and the yellow.
Then, after fry it separately, chop it in size of 0.5cm. Finally, season all materials previously mentioned with sesami oil, soy sauce, slight sugar.
If you decorate it well with nice container, you can get more effect.

Journal#14

People, particularly among women, have a desire to be more beautiful regardless of age. Even the elder feels so happy by the words that you are beautiful from people. Therefore, today, trends of plastic surgery prevail worldwide.
We can extensively classify the plastic surgery into two types. One is to remedy and the other is to make an beauty. I think It absolutely necessary to get a plastic surgery in case of the remedy. First, people who suffer from a burn or need to reform some parties of in the body by an unexpected mutation can improve quality of their lives by doing plastic surgery. For example, someone who suffer heavy burn is afraid of going out because what others may think him(her). But by doing it, he came out for the first time to the world and he found his life. However, I disagree with the plastic surgery for just making beauty. In a sense, this is extravagant behavior. If plastic surgery is done once, people have a tendency to do again. In Korea, one woman has done several times plastic surgery because she was not satisfied with the result. So, she repeated the plastic surgery. In the end, her face was seriously injured so that she was transformed beyond recognition.
Finally, I think it is better to keep an original appearance that God gives us.

Should cigarette smoking be banned?
Today, it is worldwide trend to be banned smoking. Even though smoking is harmful to health, I don't think it should be banned completely.
First, smoking helps some people more relax. For some, it even improves concentration. Sometimes, people like to smoke when they take exam or need to carm down. Nevertheless, smoking can cause damage others second hand. Some people who has allergy to smoking can get stunned from shock.
Secondly, governments throughout the world make huge profits from levying taxes on cigarette. Government funds the profits to build public facilities such as school, hospital. However, throwing away cigarette butt make surroundings messy.
Thirdly, employing many people for tobacco industry can help economic growth of own country's. But some people contradict that treating diseases caused by smoking cost a great deal of money.
Finally, I don't think cigarette smoking should be banned because people have rights to choose about it. However, without cigarettes, the world would be better place.

Should girls ask boys out?

We usually expressed girls have passive characters and boys have active ones in the past. When I was in adolescent, I was too shy to tell the boy first. However, according to social trends are greatly changed, girls become no more girlish, boys no more boyish. Sometimes, we often feel that boys are more shy and weaker than woman. Besides, some people think it doesn’t matter girls ask boys out in the dance party on account of trend being changed, However, it is more beautiful to keep the natural state originally. Of course, it is important to describe the thought truly. Sometimes, it is too passive to lose valuable things. But acting exaggeratedly can make a mess of nature.
In spite of some people insist on the fact that girls have a right equal to boys, girls should recognize that there are many differences from boys and girls physically and mentally. It is more girlish to represent her feelings truly when boys ask girls out.

Journal #10

Last year in America , I experienced a unforgettable event in church on Thanksgiving day. In Korea, We are used to celebrate Thanksgiving day on sharing Korean cakes and plentiful fruits with lots of people in church. We also have special worship and meeting. We don't eat turkey. However, we know the story how to make Thanksgiving day come from. I could experience to taste turkey with crenberry source, pumpkin pie while we enjoy talking friendly each other.
I felt amazing atmosphere in America that I couldn't do in Korea.

Journal#9 spending 6 months in ALP

It passed six months since I have attended in ALP. I feel my English skill is better than six months ago. I took the class "IBT toefl prepared" in this semester. In the beginning, I couldn't say anything in speaking test. However, I could answer something about questioned topic in the test taken a few days ago. I could't answer completely to question, but I am happy I can answer a part of question. Especially, I think tutor system in learning center is effective to ALP student. It is important how many times you can speak with native person. I have spoken with tutor three times a week. It helps me not to get an afraid of English. Besides, when I was talking with tutors who came from different countries, I can meet a lot of information from tutors. I would expect my English skill after another six months. Maybe my English skill will be better than now. If I go forward to get an one step after one step not to hurry up, I wish Iwould get to the goal.

True Friend

It's hard to define a true friend. Some consider friends to be someone easy to get along with, or someone who gossips with me, and share troubles with me. In my case, I have a true friend who has similar circumstances with me. When I was faced with great troubles, I could share my suffering with her. She also had gone through lots of pain and distress. Therefore she is able to understand my mind when we talk each other about the problem. We can be consoled with mutually. Sometimes, I can tell her about some trouble which I can say nobody, even my parents and husband. Besides, we are keeping a lot of memories. Six years ago, I have suffered from asthma. At that time we shared lots of time to hike and golf with her because I need to breathe fresh air and relax to be better from asthma more than anything else. That made us feel sympathy each other. Now, we are far from together. However, our mind is always close to each other. When I come back to Korea on next year, we may spend lots of time in speaking.

Journal#7

Television programs I usually watch are CNN news and NCIS. Theses are helpful to me in learning English. However, I don't feel it better than before. Time goes by, I wish my English skill would be improved. First, comparing to two programs, CNN news offers me a lot of informations for around the world. Furthermore given some topic sentences with pictures and formal pronounciation make me more easily understand it. In the case of NCIS, I can't hear many words from it. But I can focus much more on it than news because it's story is interesting. So, I usually watch NCIS when I was boring in studying. It enables me to refresh
myself. I think News and NCIS is intended for adults. Sometimes, we can see cruel pictures from them. I think It is necessary for children not to be exposed themselves to such programs.

Journal#5

I often used to go to park when I miss my family. Park'name is Tri City Park. However, I don't know meaning of the name. I'd like to go there as I can enjoy beautiful scenery and breathe fresh air while I go for a walk. It offers some places for people to have a party. Last saturday, I could met new sightseeing. On the one hand, there was a birthday party. On the other hand, there was a meeting after funeral. Many people who put on black suits came to there with some flower and food. It was not familar to me. However it was impressive to me. In my country, people just walk, exercise and talking with each other in park. I think it is good customs to get a place that can celebrate for joyful things or share with sorrow with nature. If I come back to Korea, I would like to have my birthday in park, ornamenting with beautiful flower and baloon.

Journal#5

The most difficult thing I've had to coupe with living in the United States was getting a driving license and filling my car with gas. Through two times failing of test , I passed. Before I get it, I could'nt go anywhere. My friend helps me go shoping, ride to DMV and some places. I should follow her schedule as she has her own plan such as riding her children and her business.At last, I passed the test. I was so happy that I called my parents and husband. Afer a few days , I bought a car. My car is different from one in Korea. All is not familiar to me. However, more serious situation was wait for me. One day I should go to gas station to fill it up myself. I was too embarrased much not open the cap. Even paying by card. I hesitated for a long time. I could fill it up owing to someone's help. I was frustrated as if I became a fool. Sometimes, being exposed new circustance is exciting and challengeing for me. However, sometimes, it makes me feel as a foolish myself.

Journal#4

My favorite season is spring. What I like the most about it is why I was born on March. When spring comes , I have a power of energy. Therefore I make a new plan and try to do it every year.
Also, spring symbolizes revival of all living things. We can see sprout starting put out from the ground frozen through winter.
Although variety of flowers are proud of their beautiful colors , especially I love green one of new leaves.
Furthermore according to weather getting warm, we can enjoy lots of outdoor activities. Even frogs come out from the winter sleeping to tell us spring started.
In this year, I will go through different spring from before I did.
I would like to enjoy the spring of California to my hearts' content.

Journal#3

Last year, I spent the most memorable birthday in Korea.
First of all, the reason why I was happy could have a lot of time with my husband. He is always busy because he cares for many patients at hospital. However, he made a plan for my birthday.
The hotel we arrived located on the seashore. we could enjoy beautiful scenery like picture.
In addition, there were many fresh fishes that we could eat in raw as soon as we catch them ourselves from the ship. Also, we had a lot of talking about going abroad. He worried greatly about stranger life in America. We felt always lack of talking each other.
The day was like our wedding day of twenty five years ago.
Now, I can remember the blue sea like emerald green.

Journal#2

I could not watch the Superbowl while I went to church to worship. But many people talked about the game. On Sunday we have worship four times in a day. Maybe, a lot of people might have worshiped early in the morning to enjoy the game. I wonder how the game is.
Through researching it through online, I found many things about it. Names symbolized each team have unique characteristic that represents their power, strength and history, such as Sanfrancisco 49ers. Especially, there are many interesting commercials for the game. Most of favorite thing is E*TRADE Golf Baby. Baby is very cute. That commercial makes me feel purity and truth like baby. I think that might have been good result from.

Introducing myself

I would like to introduce mycelf to you. My name is Yun Hee Park.I came from Korea. I was born in Seoul, the capital of our country.I live with my husband and two sons. But my younger son and I came to America last year.So, sometimes I miss my husband and older son. I have been working as a pharmacist in a hospital. But to develop my English skill, I decided to leave my job and came to the U.S.My first few days in America, I was afraid of many things.For example, getting a driving licence, renting a house, going to the marcket and so on.Furthermore, speaking Enhlish is difficult for me. Especially, I have hard time to describe my opinion by cell phone. I want to speak English fluently. So I would study hard.My hobbies are golfing and hiking. My golf score is poor. But I like to play golf.because I can enjoy beautiful scenery and fresh air.
However, I can't play play golf in America. Because I want to reach my goal.So, I have to study English hard.
